My drawings begin, as most of my paintings do, with a straight horizontal line down the middle of the paper/canvas.

I come to my work free of preconceptions, open to the idea that materializes, the line is drawn, the rest follows. If I start out with an idea it never works. I need a spark. I loved drawing as a child. It was everything. Now that I am free to do as I please, it’s everything again. The print offers another outlet for creative expression, different from my impressionist abstracts.
